We were delighted to meet Amy Quirke, the new Events Executive, for the Irish Hospitality Institute recently. Amy returns home from Canada where she spent two years as Marketing and Communications Program Coordinator. She takes over from Lyndsey Campbell , who after a number of years with the Institute, moves on to the role of Administration and Development Manager with DEBRA Ireland.
Mark O’Sullivan is now pre-opening GM for Vana Belle, Koh Samui, a luxury collection resort , part of Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Mark has moved to this position from The Maldives and was previously GM of Brooks Hotel here in Dublin.
Siobhan Burke has been appointed General Manager of the 4 star Pillo Hotel & Spa in Galway. The group has recently expanded to include the Pillo Hotel Ashbourne, formerly known as the Ashbourne Marriott Hotel.
Paul Finnegan, Deputy Manager in The Cliff House Hotel in Waterford has been promoted to General Manager of their sister property The Cliff Town House on St. Stephens Green. It is a return to Dublin for Paul, who was part of the opening team of the Merrion Hotel.
Anthony Murnane has joined the management team at Dublin Zoo with Baxter Storey Catering and Barry Flavin is appointed as Operations Manager for Esplanade Hotel in Bray. Attila Csavas has moved from Macquaire University Campus, Sydney as Head of Corporate Hospitality to join Kylemore as a Catering Manager in their expanding Dublin operation.
After seven years with Christie & Co in the UK, Maureen Doyle has moved back to Dublin to service existing Irish customers and build a further presence here.
Michael Deg joins Guillaume Leray and his kitchen team at Tinakilly House Hotel in the role of Sous Chef. Michael previously worked with Padraic Hayden at The Camden Kitchen and Dylan Hotel.
Ronan Ryan, well known from his time with Town Bar & Grill has opened his newest restaurant called BITE on the site of Georges Bistro on Dublin’s South Fredrick Street. With chef Malcolm Starmer from La Stampa at the helm, BITE is described as a hip joint serving great fish & chips and even better cocktails.
