Job Title: Area Business Development Manager

We have a great opportunity with this leading Irish hotel group for a driven hotel sales professional with proven track record of success. The Area Business Development Manager is responsible for all sales activities across several properties within the group. This role reports to the Area GM and Group Commercial Manager. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Increase overall sales through penetration of the corporate marketplace and booking agents.
  • Ensure sales turnover is achieved on annual budget figures, developing campaigns and promotional plans in areas where sales are lagging.
  • Work closely with the operating departments as well as other properties in the group to maximise service opportunities and increase revenues.
  • Manage the completion of all RFPs / FIT / Tour Series contracts solicitations.
  • Monitor and keep record of all brochure stock.
  • Conduct telesales calls & face to face meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Develop an effective advertising and promotional plan.
  • Plan and implement sales strategies.
  • Profile and drive new clients and prospects.
  • Achieve a high profile for yourself and the brand in the marketplace through regular client meeting and onsite entertainment.
  • Liaise closely with the Group Commercial Manager & Area General Manager regarding all sales activities for the area.
  • Monitor the market and complete regular competitor analysis.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience in hotel sales management roles – Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Proactive Sales Manager etc – with a steady background in quality four star establishments. Multi-site experience an advantage. Must demonstrate excellent knowledge of the Irish market and area competitors.
