Job Title: Bar General Manager

This popular local bar, restaurant and late night venue has a reputation for excellence, offering live music, quality food & drink, and welcoming traditional atmosphere alongside contemporary entertainment.

They now seek a General Manager to oversee all aspects of the operation, ensuring the highest standards of service are offered and driving continual growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:  Oversee daily operations along with the existing management team, ensuring efficiency, quality and the highest level of service. Anticipate and address challenges proactively, maintaining operational excellence.
  • Financial Management: Achieve financial objectives by managing KPIs, controlling costs, effective purchasing and implementing strategies to drive revenue and profitability.
  • Customer Experience: Uphold and enhance customer satisfaction by maintaining high service standards, addressing customer feedback effectively and innovating the customer experience.
  • Team Management and Development: Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, respect and continuous improvement. Ensure effective communication, staff training and performance management.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with legal, health and safety guidelines. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and customers.
  • Working Conditions: This role requires flexibility in hours, including late nights, weekends and holidays, to oversee the operation's smooth running.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience as General Manager / Bar Manager / Restaurant Manager of a busy, quality bar / restaurant and late night venue. Key attributes include:

  • A track record of managing large successful teams and operations.
  • Strong business acumen, with a solid understanding of budget management, financial reporting and cost control strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating a diverse team and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service, with the ability to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to management.
