We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Catering Manager to support the delivery of high-quality food services across a modern healthcare environment. This is a great opportunity to join a respected Dublin institution where food quality, service excellence, and patient care truly come first.
This role will oversee day-to-day operations across inpatient meals, main kitchen, restaurant, hospitality and coffee dock services — ensuring exceptional service for patients, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and inspire a large, multi-disciplinary catering team across patient, staff, and hospitality services.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure timely, high-quality meal delivery aligned with nutritional and therapeutic requirements.
- Maintain and enforce full food-safety compliance, including HACCP and best-practice hygiene standards.
- Support HR functions: recruitment, onboarding, performance development, and rostering.
- Drive continuous improvement across menus, service delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Control departmental budgets, monitor expenditure, and identify cost-efficiency opportunities.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory, safety, and hospital policies at all times.
- Track KPIs and lead quality-assurance initiatives, audits, and ongoing service reviews.
- Build strong relationships with clinical, facilities, and support teams to optimise service.
- Oversee procurement, supplier relationships, and stock control to maintain seamless operations.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience within catering, hospitality, or contract food services.
- Experience within healthcare / hospital environment an advantage.
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP and food-safety management systems.
- Proven ability to manage a wide range of dietary needs.
- Innovative mindset, able to bring new ideas and initiatives to all aspects of the role, including auditing, training and leading.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-centred mindset.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organisational ability.
- Financial awareness and experience managing budgets or cost controls.
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop diverse teams.
- Resilience, adaptability, and the confidence to manage a large team in a fast-paced environment.
This is a fixed-term contract role.
