Job Title: Director of Meeting & Events

Great opportunity for a talented senior event professional to join this city-centre five star hotel as Director of Meeting & Events. This role oversees all functions of the Meeting and Events Department with the aim of maximising profit and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Daily management of department activities - enquiries, proposals, contracting, event planning etc.
  • Assign workload and responsibilities, managing team performance.
  • Mentoring, coaching and regular feedback of the Events team.
  • Ensure all customer feedback, positive and negative, is quickly addressed / resolved.
  • Department reporting: forecasts, productivity reports, revenue and P&L reports etc.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans. Monitor budget and upsell products and services to increase revenue.
  • Review future business, identify gaps and ensure pro-active measures are taken to achieve targets.
  • Devise creative ideas and strategies to drive business.
  • Promote teamwork and the delivery of consistent 5 star service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Recruitment and training of the Meetings & Events Team.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience as Director of Event Management or equivalent senior event management role. Must have a proven track record of team management, ie developing the team, managing performance and meeting department goals.
