Job Title: General Manager

We are currently seeking a talented General Manager to lead the large team of this very successful, upscale specialty restaurant and retail premises. The General Manager plays a pivotal role in leading all aspects of the restaurant and shop operations: day-to-day operations, staff management, driving sales and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a diverse team of chefs, front of house and retail staff to deliver outstanding service and uphold the highest standards of quality.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regular customers as well as providing a welcoming environment for new visitors.
  • Enhance and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient restaurant and shop management.
  • Manage inventory, procurement and supply chain activities to maintain optimal stock levels and minimise waste.
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth and increase customer engagement.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyse sales data, and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue enhancement.
  • Foster a positive work environment by providing coaching, training and development opportunities for staff.
  • Maintain a strong focus on food safety, hygiene and compliance with HACCP regulations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors and partners to support business objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, customer preferences and competitive developments to inform business decisions.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience in restaurant management in quality dining establishments with a proven track record of driving sales and maximising profitability. Must be a talented leader with the ability to motivate and empower teams to achieve goals.

  • Knowledge of HACCP regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with seafood and retail is desirable, but not essential.
