Job Title: General Manager Conference & Events

This large conference and events space is hiring a General Manager who will be responsible for the management and growth of the conference and events business on site.

This will involve Operations Management in terms of day to day operational management of large events along with financial management of this area in line with targeted business plans. It will also involve Business Development in terms of devising a sales and marketing plan in new and developing markets and implementing innovative marketing strategies.

We are looking for a highly organized and customer focused manager, who can lead the team and deliver client’s needs and expectations. Five years’ experience at senior management level in the conference and events/hotel/venue sector is required along with strong analytical and reporting skills and the ability to establish relationships at a senior level and influence key decision makers.

Excellent project management, marketing and commercial skills are essential in order to deliver conference and events services in this unique location.

This role is available for an immediate start and is quite structured from September to May (9am-5pm Monday to Friday) whereas flexibility is required during the conference and summer live events season (June to August) with weekend work required on rotation. Due to the operational nature of the conference and events business, remote working will not apply to the role.
