Job Title: Head Chef

Location: Dublin

This upmarket bistro focusing on the best of modern Irish fine-dining is currently seeking a Head Chef to be a part of their management team. This role requires experience in corporate dining and weddings/events as well as traditional restaurant lunch and dinner service. Further responsibilities include:

  • Ability to work with multiple menus at one time
  • Management of kitchen team (rotas, training, daily operations…)
  • Promote and develop new menu ideas
  • Manage all Health & Safety, Food Hygiene Standards and kitchen controls. Identify and ensure training where necessary
  • Actively seek out customer comment and feedback in respect of the service through face to face contact during service times
  • Dealing with suppliers, monitoring expenditure and food cost targets
  • Stock control and stock takes

The ideal candidate will be an innovative, creative and dynamic Head Chef with a demonstrable passion for food. Must be good under pressure with expert organisational skills. Further attributes include:

  • Previous volume banqueting experience 
  • Extensive knowledge of good food handling, food standards and presentation, good knowledge of HACCP regulations and food safety management systems
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, communication and motivational skills
  • Thorough knowledge of kitchen management
  • Experience of menu design and implementation and food costing
  • Proven experience in the admin & finance side of running of a busy kitchen
