Job Title: M&E Office Manager

This sleek and contemporary four star in Galway offers cutting edge meeting facilities along the Wild Atlantic Way. They are now recruiting an M&E Office Manager to lead their M&E team. This role will seek to increase M&E business across all revenue streams (rooms, conference, weddings, banqueting, room hire and F&B), working closely with the Sales Team in promoting and marketing the hotel in order to maintain existing business and develop new business, resulting in increased sales.

A sample of key responsibilities and activities includes:

  • Execution of M&E sales activities
  • Assist in development of annual sales goals
  • Assist in completion of weekly statistics reports
  • Meet budgeted sales and profit margins for group business
  • Develop proposals and quotes that meet clients’ needs while maximising profit
  • Negotiate food and drink prices, function space and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines
  • Assist clients with menu planning, F&B coordination, table arrangements, decoration, etc. 
  • Arrange all details of meetings and conventions to include room set-ups, staging, lighting, A/V, traffic flow, menus, décor, entertainment, group room blocks, and VIP services
  • Plan and conduct pre-event and post-event meetings with clients and catering staff
  • Analyse and action against client satisfaction surveys to improve services
  • Set targets for the M&E Sales Team
  • Conduct annual reviews with all M&E Sales Staff
  • Preparation of all relevant data and reports for the P&L and the weekly revenue meeting
  • Conduct on-site client inspections and entertainment
  • Attend MHL sales blitz, and/or trade shows in key market cities

The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ managerial experience in hotel events/ event sales, preferably within a four star hotel environment, with a proven track record of meeting/exceeding all sales targets. Must demonstrate full understanding of client journey from initial enquiry through to handover to C&B team. Key attributes include:
