Job Title: Operations Manager

This popular four star hotel in Co Wicklow is currently recruiting a seasoned Operations Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel, ensuring a warm welcome and delightful stay for each guest. This role deputises for the Deputy Manager and General Manager in their absence. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures (SOPs, training manuals etc) to support high standards of customer service and anticipation of guest needs

  • Ensure customer needs are anticipated and satisfied to the high standards and handle any guest complaints in a professional and helpful manner

  • Duty Management shifts as required

  • Implement hotel budgets in the absence of the General Manager/Deputy General Manager

  • Maximise sales and implement upselling procedures throughout all hotel depts
  • Maintain good financial control over depts, assisting / guiding HODs as required: F&B GPs, wages, stock control etc
  • Team management / HR: recruitment, training & development, grievance & disciplinaries, appraisals, employee welfare, acting as employee point of contact in absence of Director of HR
  • Ensure effective communications across all depts 
  • Ensure and maintain security of cash, credit cards and floats
  • Ensure all maintenance requirements are handled in accordance with company procedures
  • Ensure compliancy with and implementation of all relevant legislation / company procedure regarding: Health & Safety, Fire / Emergency, Hygiene, GDPR
  • Ensure all departmental reports are up to date/daily & weekly
  • Ensure TMS is up to date for all areas
  • Ensure all food menus are changed quarterly

The ideal candidate will have at least four years' experience as Operations Manager / Deputy Manager or equivalent role with a steady background in quality hotel establishments. Further candidate attributes include:

  • Sound financial management: wage costings, budgets, reporting
  • Excellent track record of training teams and enhancing performance
  • Deep understanding of total hotel operations
  • Guest-centered approach to service
  • Knowledge of Opera and Micros computer systems
  • Keen attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
