This leading tourist destination in gorgeous Wicklow setting attracts a large international audience as well as being popular with domestic visitors. They now seek an experienced, agile Sales Manager to play a key role in the design and delivery of the strategic sales plan, setting clearly defined objectives, strategies & tactical plans to ensure long-term sustainable growth.  

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overall responsibility for the Sales function of the business: actively engage with existing clients, attract new visitors, drive visitor numbers, increase revenue and drive yield.
  • Devise an annual sales plan.
  • Ensure systems are in place to communicate all bookings between the Sales and Operations teams.
  • Manage and build relationships with key accounts and new high-value accounts.
  • Assess sales performance data and make recommendations (visitor segmentation, channel performance) and lead strategies for specific sales activity including pricing strategies, lead generation, offers/bundles etc.
  • Assess & leverage consumer insights, business data, and KPIs to regularly inform senior management on sales channel performance and opportunities.
  • Devise & manage sales initiatives including events, asset development and other tactics to ensure long-term sustainable growth.
  • Act as an ambassador, ensuring a positive brand image is communicated across all interactions.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience as Sales Manager in a hospitality/tourism sales role with a third level qualification in Business/Sales/Tourism/Events or related discipline.  Will demonstrate exceptional sales ability and thorough understanding of the sales process with proven track record of sales success.

In addition, candidates will have/be:

  • Experience working with tourism agencies & trade partners.
  • Experience in scripting and delivering presentations at the senior level.
  • Strong business development, lead generation and conversion & revenue management experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Highly skilled in offline and online sales channels, B2B and B2C sales channels across domestic and international markets.
  • Skilled at data collation and analysis.
  • A highly organised, goal-focused and target-driven person.
  • A self-starter who is equally a strong team player.
