Job Title: Senior Project Manager

This leading conference and meeting specialist is currently recruiting an experienced Project Manager to join their team of experts. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient event delivery and excellent customer service throughout the event cycle. This role will suit a good team player who can also take her/his own responsibilities on board.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conceptualize and plan an event working in tandem within a dedicated team
  • Drive logistics – transportation, catering, entertainment, decoration, etc.
  • Work closely with the client so as to iron out grey areas
  • Set and deliver service based on the timeline agreed with the client
  • Negotiate costs with clients
  • Give suggestions on how to enhance the event (upselling)
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships
  • Negotiate costs with vendors
  • Select suitable venues for client and contract vendors
  • Ensure vendors deliver on their services as agreed
  • Provide direction and support to company team and external sub-contractors
  • Comply with international best practices in project management from start to finish
  • Handle operational and administrative functions to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time and within budget
  • Coordinate all operations throughout the event and be on hand to deal with issues as they arise
  • Supervise staff and vendors
  • Ensure strict adherence to budget as agreed with the client
  • Ensure prompt steps are taken to resolve any issue that may jeopardize the success of an event
  • Scrutinize bills before seeking approval payments
  • Post event sign off and reconciliation

The ideal candidate will have DMC and Tour Operator experience with at least three years as Project/Event Manager. Must be an excellent team player with great interpersonal relationship skills. Further candidate attributes include:

  • Strong IT proficiency (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Effective communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Effective negotiation skills, excellent budgeting and analytical skills
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills and project management skills
  • Top-notch logistic skills will be an added advantage
  • Show calmness under pressure, a must!
  • Excellent marketing and promotional experience
  • Robust administrative and management skills, with great attention to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative

This role will involve evening/weekend work with events, but this is only during peak event season and is equally shared out and known well in advance. Fully office-based for the first three months, this role can then continue on a hybrid basis.
