Job Title: Unit Manager

Location: Co Dublin

Salary: €35,000 – €37,000

This top catering firm has an opening for a Unit Manager with one of their prime client sites in South Dublin. This role is responsible for assisting with planning, development and implementation across the unit while liaising with the team on a daily basis. Main duties include:

  • Staff management: recruitment, training, rosters, appraisals, holidays, staff policies & procedures (ie uniform policy, Health & Safety requirements etc), grievances, disciplinaries
  • Ensure smooth operation of the unit: opening/closing procedures are followed, purchases, stock take, reports etc
  • Budget control (ie food cost, staff cost, utilities & maintenance)
  • Ensure  food hygiene standards are implemented, maintained and comply with EHO,  QA, and HACCP requirements
  • Ensure delivery and stock procedures are followed, liaising with chef as required
  • Ensure an excellent level of cleanliness throughout the business and that COSHH regulations are up to date and guidelines in the use of PPE are accurate
  • Ensuring excellent customer service is delivered by whole team
  • Promote a positive attitude towards work and always lead by example
  • Direct the team to exceed the needs of customers

Skills & Experience required:

  • Minimum of two years’ catering/hospitality management experience, ideally with sandwich/ deli bar/ coffee experience
  • Certified Hospitality/Catering/Hotel Management qualification
  • Good industry track record
  • Superior interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent delegation, negotiation and people management skills
  • Target driven and ambitious
  • Self-starter with an excellent knowledge of and commitment to food hygiene best practices
  • Strong IT and communication skills
